Careless conduct by drivers can endanger a wide range of people. This includes motorcyclists they share the roads with. Motorcycle accidents can have particularly severe consequences. They sometimes take the lives of the motorcyclists involved.
Few things are as impactful on a family as having a family member taken from them in a traffic wreck, such as a motorcycle accident. Among the many things that can have impacts on a family in the aftermath of such a major loss is what the family does when it comes to legal matters, like potential wrongful death claims, stemming from the crash. So, families of victims of deadly motorcycle accidents may want the guidance of a skilled civil litigator when trying to navigate such matters.
Unfortunately, Florida has seen quite a few motorcyclist deaths in recent years. According to federal estimates, in 2015, 606 people were killed in motorcycle accidents in the state. This is 30 percent higher than the state’s total from 2014. It also puts Florida at the top of the nation when it comes to motorcycle crash deaths.
The 2015 numbers also indicate that Palm Beach County is among the Florida counties that see the most motorcycle accident fatalities. Palm Beach County had the fourth most such fatalities in the state that year, with 34 deaths. Miami-Dade, Hillsborough and Broward were the only Florida counties with higher totals.
One hopes all motorists here in Palm Beach County, motorcyclists and non-motorcyclists alike, will take appropriate steps to help make the county and the state a safer place when it comes to motorcycles.
