Speed may have been the cause of a devastating two vehicle accident that recently killed a Port St. Lucie woman. The victim was 23-years-old and was making a turn in her car when her vehicle was hit from the side. The T-bone accident was caused by a 22-year-old man who collided with the left side of the victim's vehicle.
The victim passed away at the scene of the devastating accident while the driver of the speeding car was taken to a local hospital. Investigators are still looking into why the early morning crash occurred but do believe that the negligent driver was driving at a high rate of speed when the collision happened.
This story is a good reminder of just how quickly devastating incidents can occur on Florida roadways. Though more information may emerge this story is also a good example of how harmful speeding and other traffic violations can be to those who must deal with recklessness and negligence during their commutes.
The responsible driver in this story may face a host of legal issues as the situation develops. Aside from potential criminal charges regarding his driving conduct and actions he may also face legal challenges from the family members of the deceased victim. Her family may have rights to sue under wrongful death and negligence theories of law to recover their damages as related to her deadly accident.
Deadly car accidents are unfortunately common and when they happen families need both emotional and legal support. Personal injury attorneys can help families find the resources they need to protect their rights and options regarding litigation.
